my new home - image heavy

I've been thinking about compiling a set of all my pictures from the last semester, but that's going to take a while. So in the meantime (and because I don't want to study for my Russian final) I made a list of furniture/decorations I want to have for our new apartment at home.

First: IKEA - always and forever

I've been eyeing this couch forever. But when we bought our first couch at IKEA, we opted for the cheaper Karlstad model, with the result that now I want the upgrade. And I love the fabric of this one.
This table, with three of these chairs:
It's a IKEA combo I think.

Then from newly discovered baur.de:

To go with the table and chairs.

We love wine. And I love the wooden boxes.

These two beauties. I am obsessed with lights and candles.

From beloved Butlers:

Change of plans

4 days and 20something hours until my boy comes and our California road trip starts. This also means in 4 days and 20something hours my exchange semester at ASU is officially over. Strange.

Another two months-ish until my internship in Paris starts.

And all I want right now is a little snow, just like last year.

Winter II 7/365

And last year I complained about the snow.

I have this picture in my head of the ultimate winter feeling. It was last year in one of the winter months, so November-March. I was at my friend's place and we were doing something, I can't remember. Probably studying. When I left it was already dark outside. I had my car parked in the next street, which is one of the most beautiful avenues in my town. It had trees on both sides of the road and is lined with the most beautiful old apartment houses. Everything was quiet, the kind of quiet that only happens when there is a lot of new snow and the only noise one could hear was the noise made by my boots in the fresh snow. The streetlights were on and snow was falling in thick, heavy snow flakes. You could see Christmas decorations and lights from the apartments around where I stood and everything was perfectly peaceful. I was so fascinated that I didn't even notice the cold and probably stood there a couple of minutes. I have seen snow every year of my life but this one picture from just last year, my 20th year of seeing snow in the winter, has burnt itself into my mind so deeply that I will forever associate it with what winter and snow really mean to me. I know that I will forever try to take a picture of what I've seen there. I will definitely try once I'm back home again.

So, we had this professor from the University of South Florida here, talking to us about PR and communications. One of the topic he emphasized on was social media. He urged us to go out and start a blog. So here I am, starting a blog.

I've always been into social media, pretty much from the beginning on. I've had a livejournal when people still thought posting anything of oneself online is crazy. But I've had it since then and it gave me the possibility to meet many people I would have never met, hadn't it been for this blog.

Another thing I LOVE is photography. I'm not anything near professional, but I keep learning, taking as many pictures as possible. I just love the way you can capture moments, situations, peoples, thoughts and so much more. Somewhere I once read "Photography is like painting with light" and it truly is.
